Comprehensive Housing Counseling

Having trouble keeping up with your mortgage or housing expenses? Wondering if refinancing is a good idea? Want to get your finances and credit ready to buy a home? BCHA Housing Counseling Program is a HUD-certified housing counseling agency that may help you with these and other questions about homeownership.

Our professionally trained counselors will design a case management plan to meet your housing needs. Areas of counseling include the following subjects:

Mortgage Default/Delinquency

If you are facing foreclosure we may be able to help.  Our counselors will help to resolve housing related issues by reviewing the client's personal housing situation. Default/Delinquency assistance covers the following topics:

  • Negotiating loan modifications
  • Bridging the communication gap with lenders and homeowner associations
  • Household finances/budgeting
  • Financial assistance (to qualified clients, as available)

To schedule an appointment with a Housing Counselor to discuss the options available to you, complete the Application for Mortgage Assistance form and submit to us.

In addition to meeting with the one on one housing counselors, BCHA is offering a Home Owner Preservation Forum, intended to help homeowners maintain homeownership and allow the comprehension of the different home retention and in-curable options that may be available for the participants. Workshops are held on a quarterly basis, Home Preservation Forum; on the last Saturday of the chosen month  from 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM.
