Vice Chair
John Thompson Loos III was elected Chair on May 16, 2023. Mr. Loos is a multigenerational native of Fort Lauderdale. He spent his younger years traveling the Caribbean, Central and South America exploring and working on fishing boats and doing film work focused on the ocean and marine life throughout these areas. After his travels, he focused on the family business as Vice President of First Lauderdale Investments, a company which specializes in the development and management of commercial and industrial properties, including multifamily housing, shopping centers, business parks, warehouses and marinas. In the early 2000’s he founded a company called Anywhere Broadband, which focused on building and operating high speed internet networks at multifamily properties that were in areas where residents didn’t have access to high speed internet at the time. The company was also on the cusp of open source work to provide voice over IP abilities to these areas. After selling that company, he continued his work in the development, conversion and management of assets as Vice President of First Lauderdale Investments. He is also currently the Vice President of Clean Waterways, LLC, an environmental company focused on using innovative technology to clean up inland waterways and improve the quality of the waterways for marine life and all those who enjoy the inland waterways. Mr. Loos is focused on his family, having three young sons, and continuing to improve his community from the sea to land for all those that enjoy and love living in South Florida. His goal is to continue to improve all aspects of quality of life for the residents of his native area and State.
